Although we choose to represent individuals exclusively in litigation, we believe that our mission to protect employee rights in the workplace is furthered by assisting small business in promoting polices and practices that influence management and promote a fair and just work environment.
The following services are provided at an hourly or flat-rate amount.
handbooks & Policies
In order to promote a fair and just work environment, every business should maintain an employee handbook. This document serves to provide employees information regarding their rights in the workplace - including the prohibitions against discrimination, harassment and retaliation. Further, it provides notice regarding workplace rules and expectations, in order to avoid unfair surprises during the employment relationship.
training (Including in spanish)
Employees and managers should receive periodic training regarding the workplace expectations and prohibitions. In particular, employees and managers should be reminded of the type of behavior that is not permitted in the workplace including, but not limited to, discrimination, harassment or retaliation.
Further, training should be provided in a language that your employees understand. Mr. Ramirez is fluent in Spanish and has provided both English and Spanish language trainings on anti-discrimination policies, respectful behavior in the workplace, and conflict-resolution.
investigations
In the event that an employee makes a report regarding potential discrimination, harassment, retaliation or another sensitive issue, you should conduct a prompt investigation. In the event that you prefer an independent investigation, by someone outside of your organization, we can help. Mr. Ramirez has conducted independent workplace investigations for companies including various sensitive issues, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, misconduct, and threats of violence.
